Bringing human lights together to create new communities for change!

Who Are We?

First Phase: 153 Cafe & Marketplace-Creating a Neighborhood Gathering Space and an Entrepreneurial Community
First Phase: FREE Summer Arts & Craft Club-Creating an Artisan Community

153 Cafe: Creating an outdoor space for community gathering, a gathering place for our gardeners, a relaxing spot under the umbrellas to sip on our Famous Hibiscus Tea and enjoy our delicious Spice Cake while you talk story. Proceeds of the 153 Cafe go back into the Kaleidoscope Movement to insure its longevity and growth to impact our neighborhood.

153 Marketplace: Our hope is to partner and collaborate with our neighbors to not only raise their standard of living but to help them create an entrepreneurial business out of whatever they love to do or create. Our lights shine brighter when we are doing what we love and as we learn and experience it together!

Creating a raised bed gardening community in our green space not only addresses the food insecurity of our neighborhood, but also creates a gathering space for gardeners, a place where seniors can establish friendships and experience less isolation, where those with wisdom can nurture young people, families can experience planting and harvesting together, gardeners can learn from speakers and special events about gardening, healthy foods and wellness, and so much more!

Kaleidoscope Honolulu is a grass roots initiative of First Christian Church (DOC) of Honolulu- a non-profit organization bringing human lights together to create new communities that empower our neighbors and impact positive change in our neighborhood and city.

First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ of Honolulu has been serving the community for more than 125 years. FCC of Honolulu is a multi-cultural church, whose mission is to be a billboard for Love and a vibrant community of ambassadors for inclusive Love, through building relationship bridges into our neighborhood that love all and serve all through collaboration and partnerships with our neighbors.

The "Kaleidoscope Honolulu" mission is to bring the unique human lights in our neighborhood together, creating different patterns of light that form small communities, who bring positive impact to our neighbors and to our city.

First Phase: Growing a Gardening Community

Discover what you love to create or create what you love! At our summer artisan club, we'll be creating a variety of arts & crafts with our neighbors to provide opportunities to explore entrepreneurship or you may want to keep what you create or use as gifts! It's a wonderful way to gather, create, make new friends, and spark the light of your imagination! (Ages 6-99years)
